Ten countries aim to host the 2022 World Championships

A total of ten countries have officially applied to host the 2022 FEI World Championships. They are Denmark, Estonia, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Slovakia, the Netherlands, the United Arab Emirates and the United States of America.

More than 20 years after Rome stepped in as host city of the FEI World Equestrian Games 1998 following Ireland’s late withdrawal, the Italians are looking to once again host the full Games. Italy and Saudi Arabia have good chances, because the FEI board has decided to favor multidisciplinary bids. The new bid process allows for the sustainable and cost-effective use of existing equestrian sports facilities. At the World Equestrian Games in Tryon 2018 parts of the new facilities were still not finished during the competitions.

All bids are now being analyzed. In November this year at the FEI General Assembly in Moscow (RUS) will be decided on the award of World Championships 2022. They are in the Olympic and Paralympic disciplines qualification for the Olympic Games 2024 in Paris.
