The Belgian Peter Elaut from Am-art brought several horse sculptures to the CHIO in Aachen. They look like they are made of driftwood. “Yes, that looks like it,” says Peter Elaut, but we could not collect that much driftwood. They are tree roots from teak trees.” They come from harvested plantations from Indonesia, from the roots left over from the harvest. For this life-size sculptures so no tree is felled. The sculptures should look realistic, authentic, just like horses are.
